Some fun facts about me:
- I love intentional body movement. You'll usually catch me either teaching or on the yoga mat beside you at the local yoga studio. I also love to throw weights around. Long walks are so good for my soul; in the summertime I rush home to get my walk in before the sun sets.
- Traveling brings me a special kind of joy. It is my way of decompressing from life and work. I've been to all 50 states in some capacity and working my way through the US National Parks and other countries. All of the photos on my website are from my travels from all over the world.
- I have over 20 years of service with the ND Army National Guard and let me tell you, I'm not sure how I did it. I'd be lying if I didn't say it was hard at times but yet some of my favorite memories come from my military career. I'm still enlisted and working as public affairs but keeping retirement from the military on my mind and in the horizon. I've deployed twice (2011-12 and 2013-14) with many other temporary duty assignments. I have been trained in suicide prevention, equal opportunity, resilience, and casualty notification/assistance through the NDARNG.
- I love listening to live music and there is something special about being in a concert venue with the collective audience supporting the artist. I listen to all genres but my favorite band is Pearl Jam and I've seen them six times so far!
- I am a self-proclaimed crazy cat lady! I have five furry feline buddies that I love dearly. They each have their own unique personalities. I think animals are very powerful for our healing process. I volunteer with a local cat rescue that was started by a friend of mine.
